POSITION: Sr Business Manager

TEAM: Marketing

REPORTS TO: Director, Digital Product Management & Publishing

POSITION PURPOSE

To support and lead a digital business team by: Leading and innovating the management of the product development process, ensuring that products are completed on schedule, on budget, and to the specifications set forth by Brand and Business team leadership. Researching, analyzing and making recommendations regarding current market trends to identify new product/market opportunities, innovations in Organized Play (OP) and business intelligence activity. Strong organizational, communication and decision-making skills are required of this position, as it will be in regular contact with business partners, third party partners, and licensees. Creating & executing on digital go-to-market plans, including P&L modeling and SWOT analysis. Leading and innovating around the management of the product development process with input from the Director, giving team members every opportunity to excel. Regular contact with international business partners.

Supervises: 3-10

Directly: Managers, Assistant or Associate Business Managers, Content Production Staff, Online Merchandising Staff

Other Key Relationships:

- Managers & Directors in Brand, Marketing. Organized Play, Game Support, Research & Development
- Inside Legal Counsel
- Managers & Directors of Digital Game Design and Development within Digital Studios
- Managers & Directors in other Digital Gaming business units at Hasbro

JOB DUTIES

Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities:

- Leads the management of all or part of the product development process beyond specification, ensuring that products are completed on schedule, and that licensed products meet our requirements, performance and quality expectations, and business goals.
- Makes product trade-off decisions related to time, cost, quality.
- Supervises business analysis, community/game moderation, tournament operations.
- Writes comprehensive and strategic business, sales, and marketing plans especially surrounding maximizing customer value through promotion and incentive based programming.
- Works with finance and business intelligence to help the Sr. Business Manager/Director form comprehensive, actionable BI queries and plans
- Researches, analyzes and makes recommendations regarding current market trends and competitive activity to identify new product/program opportunities.
- Acts as liaison with development, publishing, and licensed business partners.
- May manage a team supporting the creation of marketing and promotional content that is delivered directly into a digital product or website.
- Drives build vs buy and license vs self-publish decisions.
- Structures and negotiates business deals and contractual terms.

Secondary Functions:

- P&L forecasting & management for a single major product or several small products totaling up to $15M in annual revenue.
- Provides data for Senior Business Manager and Director regarding product profit & loss.
- Works with finance on viability for new contracts/products and creates P&L forecasting for new ventures.
- Controls costs/resources under their responsibility (has product budget responsibility, not authority).
- P&L forecasting & management for multiple products totaling between $15M and $50M in annual revenue.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent experience
- MBA strongly preferred

Prior Related Experience:
- 6+ years progressive business management experience required.
- Experience with P&L analysis required.
- Digital commerce experience required.
- Supervisory experience required
- Experience working on a global brand required, management preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people.
