Technical Artist

Description

We have an immediate opening for a Technical Artist with at least 2 years of experience. This is an excellent opportunity with a growing social gaming company.

We are seeking an experienced person to work between the art and programming staff to create animated assets and ensure that assets are easily integrated into the game engine without sacrificing artistic integrity.

Our ideal candidate is someone who can create art assets for Flash games, including characters, animation, environments, and UI. You will have a strong influence on our overall product development process, from start to finish. Big plus if you have experience developing original IP, characters, and worlds with mass appeal. You must also love to iterate and launch at rapid cycles, while instantly getting feedback from millions of super active (and often obsessive) users!

Essential Job Functions:
• Develops new techniques and processes to solve visual effect production challenges
• Work closely with the Art Director, concept artists, and designers to create and implement the visual designs and animations for the game
• Develop concepts, iterate, and produce animations for key titles in Flash
• Create high-quality artwork within memory and frame-rate budgets
• Works with art and game design to create the in game avatars
• Innovates and solves art technical issues for tool development used in game production
• Works effectively with both programming and art to improve game performance
• Pushes and/or defines art limitations for the project
• Works closely with the tech team to design, debug and evaluate new tools
