Game Designer / Mathematician 

SHFL entertainment is currently looking to fill the position of Game Designer based in our Las Vegas, Nevada Headquarters and reporting to the Director of Electronic Games. This is a unique and exciting opportunity for an outstanding Game Designer to grow their skills and experience in a fantastic and vibrant environment. 

Key responsibilities for this role include:

• Create, test and analyze new games and game models
• Develop and maintain creative gaming concepts through the regular use of sophisticated mathematics and probability
• Compose scientific documentation and mathematical proofs for game submissions to ATFs and regulators
• Liaise with EGM Team Leaders and EGM team members (Test Technicians, Graphic Artists, Software Developers, Software Engineers) to facilitate the timely progression of game projects through internal testing, submissions to ATF, and ultimate release of games to market

Job skills:

• Understand abstract and generalized gaming features
• Show a keen interest in industry trends
• Develop programming capability though the use of multiple programming languages
• Maintain code libraries for analysis of game statistics
• Refresh knowledge of combinatorics and statistics
• Understand the commercial importance of intellectual property
• Identify use of particular patented ideas in both SHFL entertainment and other manufacturer’s products
• The position can require liaising with senior management customers, regulators, distributors and suppliers. This liaison could occasionally involve domestic and sometimes overseas travel

Educational requirements:

• Mathematics Degree or substantial mathematical studies undertaken within a tertiary program
