IMAGE QUALITY SCIENTIST #1604065 The NVIDIA Tegra mobile processors include a sophisticated Image Signal Processor (ISP) used for processing still and video images for mobile cameras in phones and tablets. The Tegra camera team is seeking a world-class image quality scientist to ensure that customer and internal platforms have best-in-class image quality. As a member of the image quality staff, you will work on development of the image quality testing suite, camera feature algorithms, and OEM customer products for the latest cutting-edge NVIDIA Tegra hardware. You will work directly with Quality Assurance, Architecture, Software, Camera Vision, and Research personnel to ensure image quality evaluation is effectively carried out in the development, tuning, and release process. RESPONSIBILITIES: - Develop and implement the next generation of NVIDIA's image quality testing suite, including comprehensive reports and management-level summaries - Ensure objective metric values from image quality testing are correlated with subjective perception - Debug image quality issues, especially ones related to image quality metrics, and work with camera lab teams to recommend innovative solutions - Develop and implement new lab and real-world image quality tests, including set up of new test equipment - Work with the camera lab teams to ensure image quality metrics are being used effectively for optimized image quality development, tuning, and software release - Assist with defining image quality requirements for new feature development - Assist with image quality benchmarking using competitive analysis and psychophysical research - Support development of image quality industry standards, e.g., CPIQ and ISO MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: - MS/PhD degree in Imaging Science, Color Science, or imaging-related degree program - 5+ years of relevant industry experience. Relevant industries include digital cameras, image sensors, computational imaging or digital image processing. - Experience with video and still image quality metrics, both objective and subjective - Good programming skills such as in Matlab, C/C++, and Python - Knowledge of embedded or mobile system software a plus - Familiarity with image quality test programs such as Imatest or DxO - Working experience on Android and Embedded Linux OS a plus - Excellent communications skills. May involve customer interactions - A strong team player; self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and changing requirements EOE
