Piranha Games has an exciting opportunity for a Web Developer to join our growing team. You will be involved immensely with both the front and back-end of a website. But it doesn’t end here – you will also be involved in marketing and helping to get our brand out there!

What you will be doing:

• Design, code and test existing and/or new web sites based on detailed business requirements
• Create pixel-perfect layouts from supplied designs that provide a consistent experience across all web browsers and operating systems
• Set-up, tone and maintain back-end web server technologies and processes such as system administration, networking, virtual machines, clustering and sharding
• Collaborate with other team members to identify and implement features and functionality that create a unique and superior web experience for users
• Create and maintain website aesthetically to attract and drive user traffic
• Expand and share knowledge of technology standards, industry trends, emerging technologies, and software development best practices
• Perform routine maintenance of existing sites and applications
• Other ad-hoc responsibilities as requested

What you will bring with you:

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a role of a similar capacity
• Exceptional background in HTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP, MySQL, and MariaDB
• Experience coding for all major browsers (Chrome, Firefox, IE, Safari) as well as mobile devices
• Strong knowledge of web vulnerability prevention methods
• Firm understanding of responsive design techniques including mobile and tablet design, and implementation
• Strong knowledge of database design and implementation
• Capable of working with little instruction to resolve demanding tasks, as well as managing multiple tasks and deadlines
• Proven ability to learn and apply new skills quickly and effectively, and open to taking constructive feedback
• Ability to work in a collaborative and dynamic environment requiring flexible working hours
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

What we consider as pluses!

• Experience working with APIs
• Understanding of SEO best practices, CMS, E-commerce and social media integration
• Experience working within Agile Game Development methodologies
• Passion for games!
