Senior FX Technical Artist

The Role:

Shiver Entertainment is looking for an exceptionally talented individual to be a part of the engineering & art teams working on the studio’s first title. The Senior FX Technical Artist will be responsible for creation, implementation, and systems spec for all effects components in the game. They will need to collaborate closely with engineering, design, and the other art disciplines to develop outstanding visual effects.

Responsibilities:
  • Working closely with Designers and Engineers to create in-game FX for stunning environments and exciting game moments.
  • Ownership and interaction with programmers and technical art to develop, enhance, and maintain VFX systems
  • Establish particle effects, post effects, and lighting effects.

Requirements:
  • 1 shipped title as a Lead FX Artist on PC or major console platform 
  • 5+ years professional games development experience as an effects artist.
  • In-depth understanding of current computer graphics capabilities and limitations.
  • Experience with C++ programming and scripting languages.
  • Extensive knowledge and proficiency in Unreal and Unity
  • Solving technical issues that arise with new tools or game performance.
  • Solid understanding of next-gen FX authoring process, limitations and dependencies.
