Network Analysis Product Engineer - Vector Maps

Esri needs your help to build an amazing cloud-oriented web-GIS platform and the latest mobile mapping applications. If you’re an energetic, detail-oriented software engineer who’s crazy about data and has a knack for solving challenging problems, then we want you! The ArcGIS development team is seeking a product engineer who can help build the next generation of vector maps for the ArcGIS platform.

 

You’ll work with developers, product managers, and users to source, evaluate, and compile data; design and test tools for compiling optimized maps; and confirm that ArcGIS produces up-to-date and accurate results. Your work is important to a wide range of Esri core software products and your expertise is essential for product releases and delivering a compelling platform.   

 

Responsibilities:

  • Work with end users to understand their requirements and workflows for vector maps
  • Develop best practices, workflows, data models, scripts, and tools for managing map, geocoding, and network analysis content
  • Work with core development teams to develop tools and processes for compiling and optimizing vector data
  • Convert customer workflows and requirements into real projects that can be tested and validated in Esri applications
  • Develop test plans, ensuring size targets and performance metrics meet application and system requirements
  • Manage metrics for vector maps and communicate this information with Esri product teams
  • Work with users to ensure they are successful implementing what we build


Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or master’s in computer science or a related field, depending on position level
  • One to two years of hands-on software development experience with large scale systems or client-server desktop, web, or mobile applications
  • Experience with SQL, supporting data formatting and manipulation
  • Experience with data models, database systems, and ETL processes
  • An attention to detail and passion for perfection

Recommended Qualifications:

  • Ability to understand and write code in C#, C/C++, Java, Python, or other high level languages
  • Understanding of the agile software development life cycle
  • Experience implementing concepts of continuous integration on software development projects
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Visual Studio Testing Framework
