Description
Southeastern Community College, which is located on the Mississippi
River in Southeast Iowa, is seeking a Computer
Animation Instructor position.
(Program location is currently at the West Burlington campus but
assignment may be at all SCC locations, including off-campus sites.)
BEGINNING DATE: August 2014
REPORTS TO: Dean of Career, Technical &
Health Education
ABOUT THE POSITION: The
instructor at Southeastern Community College provides educational services as
assigned, in accordance with general college guidelines, board policies, and
administrative guidelines. The
individual instructor is the key to the successful accomplishment of the
college’s educational goals. His/her
attitude, personality, knowledge, skills, and motivation contribute to the
creation of an effective learning environment.
Familiarity with the comprehensive community college philosophy is
highly desired.
QUALIFICATIONS:
·
Bachelor’s
or Master’s Degree in Animation, Film, Video, Media or related field and/or minimum of 3 years full time experience (within the past 5 years)
within the Computer Animation industry required.

This position requires the ability to
satisfactorily teach courses in the following areas: Animation Software; Stop Motion/Video
Production; Production Pipeline Studio; Animation Principles and
Techniques; Exploring Human Movement.

Prior
teaching experience preferred.
·
All candidates interviewed will be required to
provide a teaching demonstration.

CONDITIONS: This
is a full-time position (170 day contract plus summer) with a minimum salary of
$54,172.00. Benefits include single
($250 deductible) medical, dental & vision insurance, $50,000 life
insurance, long-term disability, paid sick leave, 3 personal days and
participation in IPERS or TIAA-CREF retirement plan.
