Quality Assurance Engineer

Pixar's Studio Tools QA Team is looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to participate in our software quality assurance efforts. This position requires close collaboration with the engineering and production staff to test Pixar's proprietary in house toolset. In this position you will write, execute, and automate key test cases and provide support to end users. Other responsibilities include reporting on test progress, status, and coverage, as well as meeting test completion and delivery milestones that you help define. In general have a passion for delivering high quality software.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct customer-facing support to production users in triaging bug reports, documenting reproducible steps and prioritizing support issues

• Identify key test cases / workflows to conduct targeted testing

• Continually research new technologies to incorporate into our QA process

• Work closely with the development team during all phases of the product life cycle

Required Skills:

• Knowledge of QA methodology, processes and tools

• Methodical troubleshooting and debugging aptitude

• Proficient in UNIX / Linux environment

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Demonstrated experience for being self driven and proactive in sorting out a range of issues

• BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience

Desired Skills / Extras:

• Scripting experience in Python a strong plus

• Experience in a production environment using high-end 3D graphic packages such as Maya or Katana
