QA Certification Tester

Description

Summary:

Test software for compliance with 1st party console manufacturer standards (Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo). Compiles lists of defects or issues found during testing. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Project Lead.

Responsibilities 

· Identify and report issues compliance and certification based issue with pre-release entertainment software.

· Report and Track issues

· Verification of fixes

· Work with other Testers, Lead Testers and Supervisors

· Prepare/execute test scripts

· Ensure work is completed within project deadlines

· Functionality testing of all DIS products (70%)

· Help prepare and validate submission items (25%)

· Special projects or assignments (5%)

 

Basic Qualifications        

· At least one year testing experience with current handheld or console platforms.

· Knowledgeable in 1st party standards for at least one major console manufacturer (Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo).

· Technically capable with the ability to learn PC based tools to facilitate testing.

· Has an understanding of the test cycles and processes.

· Readily identifies and articulates problem areas.

· Understands operating systems, game consoles, programming code and their relationships to bugs.

· Ability to handle high pressure situations and prioritize multiple tasks.

· Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to work with varied staff members and personalities

 

Preferred Qualifications 

· Experience working with 1st party QA tools used for test and submission preparation.

· Experience with networking test tools such as Network emulator for windows, Network Monitor (netmon), or similar tools.

· Familiarity with features and capabilities of current console hardware.

 

Required Education         

· High School Diploma, some college (preferably in the area of Computer Science or related area), or equivalent interactive industry experience
