QA/Customer Support Lead

Engineering | Mountain View, CA / Mid-Peninsula

 

DigitalFish has an immediate need for a Quality Assurance and Customer Support Lead. 


You’ll begin by working on a cutting-edge Google ATAP project creating a new content-authoring and delivery environment for artists, driven and being used by former Pixar animators and directors. Initially you will be located at Google's main campus in Mountain View, with your permanent DigitalFish office located mid-Peninsula. Some of our other partners include LEGO, NASA, Pixar and DreamWorks, and you can expect to intersect with these other projects over time.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, triage, validate, and manage (in JIRA and RallyDev) reported issues from artists and technical users, product management, and your own testing.
  • Work closely with the development team to communicate known issues.
  • Coordinate issue triage and prioritize issues for resolution with the Engineering Lead.
  • Help to design and put into place automated tests.
  • Perform and oversee manual acceptance tests.
  • Define, iterate, and execute upon internal software test plans.
  • Work with DigitalFish and Google developers and the Engineering Lead to define a project test plan, verify milestone builds, and determine final project acceptance upon conformance with test plan.
  • As first person in the role, prepare for and contribute to guiding expansion of the QA and Customer Support organization.


Minimum Requirements

  • 5+ yrs professional quality assurance, customer support or closely related software development experience
  • 1+ yrs experience in QA leadership, support management or project management roles
  • Experience in a customer-facing role, particularly if involving creative or other non-technical users
  • Experience delivering finished products to paying customers
  • Practical knowledge and experience in C/C++, Python, Lua or other OOP languages and familiarity with OOP concepts
  • Test-automation setup and scripting experience
  • Working knowledge of Subversion or similar software revision control systems
  • Practical experience employing JIRA or other issue-management software
