Maya/Unreal Programmer

Engineering | Telecommute / Mountain View, CA


DigitalFish has an immediate need for a Maya/Unreal Engine Programmer. Part-time, contract, or telecommute are OK.

You’ll be working on projects for LEGO and Google ATAP, creating new content-authoring and delivery tools for artists, central to emerging major initiatives at LEGO and at Google. Initially you will have the opportunity to telecommute while focused on LEGO-related development. Subsequently there will be opportunity to work at Google's main campus in Mountain View, with the possibility of working at times from DigitalFish's office located mid-Peninsula. Some of our other partners include NASA, Pixar and DreamWorks, and you can expect to intersect with these other projects over time.

Responsibilities

  • Develop plugins and Maya shelf tools for Maya 2014 and Unreal Engine 4.
  • Become adept at adapting graphics code and software algorithms from R&D researchers to the unique execution models and data-formatting requirements of Maya and Unreal.
  • Work closely within a team of developers and with senior technical staff in DigitalFish, LEGO, Google ATAP and other development partners.


Minimum Requirements

  • 5+ years of DCC-tool experience, including Maya and one or more game engines
  • Experience developing plugins for extending Maya and Unreal Engine
  • Broad familiarity with the modern Maya API and execution environment
  • Familiarity with game-engine architecture
  • Familiarity with modern graphics API's such as OpenGL, GL ES or DirectX
  • Good understanding of 3-D graphics fundamentals
  • Some professional experience in 3-D computer-graphics production is desirable
  • Practical knowledge and experience in C/C++ and OOP
  • Strong general programming skills
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development process
  • Self-motivated with strong communications skills and able to work both in a team and independently

Location
Initially you will be telecommuting while working remotely in association with DigitalFish in the SF Bay Peninsula and LEGO in Billund, Denmark. Subsequently you may be located at Google's main campus in Mountain View, with the possibility of working at times from DigitalFish's office located mid-Peninsula.
