Editor

Description

Summary:

Editorial is where it all comes together. From Storyboard Animatics to final shots, Editorial is responsible for maintaining the tonal center of the film, through pacing and always maintaining focus on story. The Editor is responsible primarily for teeing up sequences for the Master Edit suite on a daily and weekly basis, as well as assisting where required. The successful applicant should be well versed in Avid Media Composer, have a great balance between technical and creative, and have a demonstrated passion for story and film. A combination of both animation and live-action experience is preferred.

When helping to cut Storyboard animatics, the Editor will show a keen sense for story and tone, as well as a knack for creating living, breathing animatics through the use of sound, music, and using comedic/dramatic timing. They aren't just still images! Make them come to life.

In addition to creating great storyboard animatics, the Editor should be comfortable with a footage-based approach when working with Previs. Previs will not necessarily be shot specific to the storyboard animatic. The goal is to always enhance with shot selection, sound effects, and timing. Take it to the next level!

Taking direction well and being a team player is a must, as well as experience within animation or VFX editorial pipelines. The Editor should also be well-organized, able to manage media effectively and efficiently within the Avid Unity system, and familiar with multiple codecs and formats.

•        Be pro-active in solving problems, and be able to turn around changes/fixes in a timely matter.

•        Source Footage for Reference/Rippomatic Edits

Requirements:

•       5+ years experience working with Avid Media Composer

•       Experience with other editing software a bonus

•       Experience with both animation and live-action preferred
