As Head of Art (m/f), you will be responsible for ensuring the high aesthetic quality of our products and advertising materials and that they achieve an optimal performance. You will take responsibility of all technical and professional matters for our internal art department of 180+ employees. At the same time, you will serve as a knowledgeable point of contact for other areas of the company, engage in the creative exchange of ideas, and motivate our artists. Your goal is to advance the strategic and organizational development of the art department.

Your job:

  • Manage, lead, organize, and strategically develop all internal art departments (concept, vector, 3D, animation, marketing, corporate)
  • Ensure optimal (feedback) processes, structures, and procedures for ensuring and complying with our high aesthetic quality standards, and ensure that the artwork created achieves optimal performance
  • Develop and motivate the entire art team
  • Work closely with all relevant areas within the company (game design, product management, conversion, etc.), our management, and external partners
  • Develop and oversee in-house design concepts and further training programs
  • Take responsibility for allocating resources within the department in collaboration with area leads and art managers
  • Represent the Goodgame Studios art department both within and outside of the company

 Your profile:

  •  Several years of experience as an art dierctor, head of art/design, creative director, or a similar position
  • Several years of solid experience managing an international team in the area of art/design, games, film, or production, experience at an executive level would be beneficial
  • A completed degree in the area of art, design, or similar
  • Excellent communication skills and a highly team-oriented attitude
  • Outstanding organizational skills and a structured, result-oriented working approach
  • Comprehensive experience in team building and development, as well as long-term staff planning
  • Knowledge of standard 2D and 3D programs (e.g. Adobe CS, Maya, etc.)
  • Experience in recruiting artists and designers (from the analysis of the job's requirements through to interviewing)
  • Experience in planning, organizing, implementing, and controlling production flow in the creative areas is desirable
