Senior Designer, Connected Experience

SUMMARY OF POSITION

For over 20 years Monolith has been obsessed with delivering unique gaming experiences for our fans. Combining innovative gameplay, cutting edge technology and AI, inventive narratives and stunning visuals to create award winning and best-selling games. Starting with our first game, Blood through to our most recent title, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor which has been awarded with numerous Game of the Year Awards, including Gamespot, Joystiq and IGN as well as Best Action/Adventure Game at the 2014 Game Awards.

We are dedicated to ensuring that our next game is our best yet, and to achieve that we need the best and brightest talent the industry has to offer.

Monolith Productions seeks a talented designer to shape the social, competitive and online community of our games and to design monetization of our games on multiple platforms. He or she should be able to design systems and interactions which contribute to the long-term engagement and success of our games.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work with design leadership to define and influence game systems for online features which promote positive social, community, and competitive interaction.
  • Collaborate with the team on new game features to maximize short and long-term player satisfaction, and provide for monetization opportunities.
  • Design game features/systems that compel and re-engage players.
  • Design, prototype and champion the economic systems to drive players to invest in our game economy.
  • Collaborate with game designers on new game features to maximize short and long-term player satisfaction, and provide for monetization opportunities.
  • Work closely with the user interface, technical, and systems design teams to implement game interactions and user interface which support social systems.

JOB QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:

Work Experience

·5+ years designing games with recent emphasis on online social features.

·2+ years designing virtual goods and working with micro-transactions, preferably in an online game.

·Previous experience in user interface and interaction design with representative wire-frames or mock-ups a plus.

Education, Professional Training, Technical Training or Certification

·Passport eligibility preferred.

Knowledge/Skills

·Strong time management skills with a proven ability to focus on priorities, solve problems, juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

·We are looking for people who play games and understand why they love playing them.

·Good communications skills, a friendly and open nature, and an active and curious mind.

·Ability to evaluate designs and content for visual impact, brand guidelines, and UX best practices.

.Ability to communicate effectively with different audiences on a broad range of topics, e.g. technical, business and creative.

·Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.  

·Self-motivated, driven individual who prefers working in a fast-paced environment.
