Financial Analyst

Legend3D, Inc. is an innovative stereoscopic and visual effects company committed to advancing the art of 3D for first-run feature films while also identifying opportunities to create new revenue from iconic library titles.

 

We are currently seeking a Financial Analyst for our Toronto offices.  Reporting in to the Director of Finance, the ideal candidate will have a strong financial background, and the ability to quickly learn and adapt to the fast-paced work environment that is the entertainment industry. Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and accuracy are essential, as is the ability to multi task and maintain extreme confidentiality.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field, preferred; or equivalent combination of experience/education.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist with monthly reporting requirements.

  • Involvement in quarterly and annual forecasts / budgets.

  • Preparing various financial and productivity ad-hoc reports.

  • Interact with other departments to gather financial information. Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts.

  • Establish, maintain and coordinate the implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures.

  • Prepare and review budget, revenue, expense, payroll entries, invoices and other expenditure control.

  • Review invoices and coordinate payment through Accounts Payable.

  • Track and monitor purchasing trends and periodically conduct inventory audits.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in financial statement analysis, including trend analysis and forecasting, required.

  • Knowledge of both Canadian and US accounting laws.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Successful experience managing and executing an annual budgeting process, including extensive interaction with various leads throughout an organization.

  • Experience with Canadian payroll; preferred knowledge of ADP.

  • Familiarity with NetSuite, or ability to learn software quickly.

  • Intermediate/expert knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

 

Working conditions:

  • Must be able to remain seated in a stationary position for the majority (up to 90%) of a shift

  • Must be able to use hands/fingers to operate a computer and other office machinery

  • Will be working in a low-lit environment, and may be subject to eye strain
