Senior Compositing Artist

Following the development of many successful titles on iPhone such as the Modern Combat, Dungeon Hunter, Gangstar and Asphalt franchises, Gameloft Montreal is currently seeking a Senior Compositing Artist to work on high-quality CGI trailers for its next generation of iPhone, iPad and Android games.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

As part of the cinematics team, the selected candidate will help produce high-quality trailers for the latest creations of Gameloft studios in North America (Montreal, Toronto, New Orleans, and Seattle). The selected candidate will be responsible for producing 3D scenes and integrating elements in the finished product, as well as the visual quality of the team’s creations.

·         Work with lighting experts and other 3D artists to ensure that each shot is delivered according to the highest quality standards

·         Follow up on production procedures and develop creative approaches to solve the team’s technical issues

·         Produce the appearance requested by the project manager when creating 3D elements and compositing passes

·         Solving creative problems using simple and effective techniques, share ideas with other team members and made modifications quickly depending on the client’s approval

·         Ensure that selected techniques are optimized

Skills and Profile

·         Degree from a recognized institution in a related field

·         At least 5 years’ experience in CG compositing

·         Experience in 3D procedures, lighting and rendering will be considered an asset

·         Good knowledge of Nuke, 3D production procedures, and experience in multi-layer EXR compositing, set extension and FX elements

·         Expert knowledge in projection cameras and the 3D environment in Nuke

·         Able to finish shots in an independent manner within very short deadlines

·         Strong artistic skills

·         Good sense of colour, colour spaces and attention to detail

Profile

·         Interest in various graphical styles (cartoonish/stylized/photorealistic)

·         Interest in new technologies and tools

·         Good visual culture in various fields (architecture, design, movies, comics, games, etc.)

·         Open-minded, curious and self-critical

·         Organized, efficient and independent

·         Motivated and passionate about videos
