Instructional Designer

SCAD seeks an Instructional Designer to play a critical role in shaping eLearning for SCAD students and faculty.

In this role, you will ensure that the pedagogical design of each eLearning course matches the standards set by the Curriculum Council for approved goals and outcomes. As such, you are responsible for ensuring that students who take eLearning courses experience the level of rigor and creative formation that are hallmarks of a SCAD education. More than that, you will work to provide students and eLearning faculty with a stimulating learning environment that enhances the scope and reach of the SCAD experience across the world. This position requires specific knowledge in pedagogical frameworks and design that is unique to the discipline of instructional design.

The ideal candidate demonstrates experience in the field of online distance education as well as strong web-authoring skills, working knowledge of HTML, and at least one WYSIWYG editor (preferably Dreamweaver). The candidate should have the ability to conduct needs assessment and task analysis to include terminal and enabling objectives, the ability to employ industry standard instruction design principles in the design of training for online delivery, and the ability to design effective performance measurement and evaluation strategies.

The candidate should also have the ability to manage projects to successful completion on time, superb written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment and to effectively interface with a variety of academic constituencies. Experience working with content management systems (preferably Blackboard) is preferred.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or graduate degree is required, preferably in instructional design or comparable discipline.
