Senior Technical Artist, Sphere Studios is a cross-functional artist working throughout the entire project development cycle to create immersive & interaction designs, real-time and/or non-linear content as well as develop concept prototypes that help to bridge creative possibilities with technical paths to execution.

Specific Functions/Activities: 

  • Generate provocative concepts and design executable realtime content for experiences ranging from permanent interactive installations to live shows.
  • Collaborate with project teams in research, ideation, prototyping, and development of original, scalable immersive and interactive concepts and experiences, and collectively iterate from concept through execution
  • Understand interactive and real-time technologies and content creation techniques and how those tools fit into modern exhibit/activation and live show workflows. 
  • Ensure that all work meets a high level of creativity, innovation and brand association
  • Effectively communicate concepts in a clear, concise manner
  • Demonstrated ability to move assets between 2D/3D software packages to Game Engine (Unreal/Unity)
  • Ability to identify workflows required to increase production efficiency as required by project deliveries and milestones
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years design and production experience; developing assets, pre-rendered and real-time content and interactive solutions in a fast-paced studio
  • Proven ability to design engaging & entertaining experiences across a range of platforms – integrating digital, physical, and visual components. Experience with AR and VR applications is a plus.
  • A true collaborator with a positive, solution-based attitude, and the ability to work with people with diverse skills and backgrounds
  • Proven track record of generating exceptional creative work on multiple fast-paced projects in a large organization 
  • Articulate and charismatic speaker who can lead discussions and captivate a room
  • Working knowledge of a variety of tools that allow for multiple fidelities of prototyping and presentation
  • Fluency in a handful of creative development platforms, frameworks and languages such as Unity, Unreal, Notch, Touch Designer, Arduino, Cinder/openFrameworks, OpenGL, ThreeJS/PixiJS, etc.
  • Experience with web-based content (HTML5, WebVR, WebGL, GLSL)
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, take criticism, and work under high pressure with short deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
