VFX Supervisor
Description
FuseFX Vancouver is seeking talented and experienced
VFX Supervisors to add to the production team for current and upcoming
projects.
FuseFX is an award-winning Visual Effects Studio providing
visual effects services for episodic television, feature films, commercials,
virtual and VR productions. Founded in 2006, the company employs 500+ personnel
across seven studio locations: our flagship office in Los Angeles, CA, New York
City, Vancouver, BC., and Atlanta. Our offices in Montreal, Toronto, and
Bogota, is serviced by FOLKS VFX. Folks joined the FuseFX family of brands in
2020.
Responsibilities:
- Attending production and VFX meetings, location and tech
scouts
- Breaking down scripts and working with producers and CG sups
in bidding
- Providing on-set supervision of plate and element
photography
- Leading team of compositors, providing guidance and feedback
on shots
- Assisting in recruitment duties, reviewing reels, making
recommendations
- Communicating effectively with clients, artists, and
management, while guiding a shot from initial concept through final delivery
Traits of a Successful FuseFX VFX Supervisor:
- Experience leading a team of artists in a production environment with
the ability to adjust approaches and techniques based on episodic TV, streaming
and/or film expectations
- On-set supervision, script breakdown, and bidding experience
- Working knowledge of Nuke composting workflows and the
fundamentals of CG approaches and techniques
- Strong understanding of directory structure, file formats,
naming conventions, scripts, automation tools, automated dailies
- Excellent problem solving and communication skills
- Strong creative and technical abilities
- Must be a team player and work well under tight deadlines
