Technical Project Manager

Role Summary

Madison Square Garden Entertainment is looking for a Technical Project Manager to join the Real-time Software team. This role requires the ability to apply astute understanding of real-time experiential engineering to propel the team’s development work forward. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record working with interactive, immersive, and/or VFX pipelines. You will focus on managing the needs and requirements for software projects, defining scope, and working closely with the larger engineering, creative development, and production teams to develop tools and next generation experiences for use in Sphere and across all MSG properties and partnerships.

Specific Functions/Activities Summary

  • Work closely with the Senior Director to ensure the team’s output is aligned with business objectives 
  • Lead prioritization and backlog grooming exercises, sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, demos and other related meetings
  • Utilize agile methodologies to run team workstreams, including sprint planning and timeline estimation and definition 
  • Plan with a clear understanding of project vision and priorities, managing ongoing work within schedule and scope 
  • Know and understand the tech stack and work with the team to outline feasibility and timelines
  • Manage technical specifications and documentation, and own all project-related task management and reporting.
  • Proactively identify potential project risks, and identity solutions to address them in advance 
  • Serve as the key point of contact for cross-functional project teams and stakeholders 

Qualifications

  • Required 3+ years of experience as a Technical Project or Product Manager  
  • Experience managing either internal and/or consumer-facing products from inception, delivery, optimization, and beyond 
  • Understanding of real-time technologies, platforms, and development workflows
  • Experience running highly organized agile methodology  
  • Strong interpersonal skills with excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Able to inspire and motivate teams around a common goal, with a positive and realistic attitude
  • A passion for the intersection of technology and creativity, with a keen interest in staying up to date with innovative developments
