Technical Artist

We are seeking an experienced Technical Artist to work closely with our art and tech teams. Candidates should be well versed in both artistic and technical game development processes and have an excellent understanding of how those aspects intersect to the benefit of art production. A strong combination of visual aesthetics and technical knowledge are a necessity.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, manage & troubleshoot the player character gear/wearable pipeline.
• Help maintain advanced character/creature rigs in 3d Studio Max .
• Create, propose, design, and improve artist workflows.
• Communicate technical concepts to develop optimal tools.
• Provide the art team with advanced tools to assist them in asset production.
• Troubleshoot pipelines and workflow, and communicate problems, risks, and obstacles to the team on pipeline matters.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of professional industry experience as a Technical Artist.
• Expert knowledge of 3D Studio Max and Max scripting.
• Must have experience creating advanced character rigs in 3ds Max.
• Must have experience developing a character wearable pipeline.
• Experience working with shaders and particle systems.
• Experience in all aspects of game art generation and implementation.
• Must be an expert at taking a technical approach to problem solving for art production.
• Must have excellent communication skills.
• Candidates must show an aptitude for learning new systems quickly.
• MMO experience a plus.
