Senior Video Specialist I

Prerequisites:
• Video producers/Editors need to be capable of balancing a project’s creative requirements with schedule, budget, and resource limitations.
• Must demonstrate an understanding of storytelling, design, and editorial processes, as well as, the ability to integrate them all while ensuring that high production values are not compromised
• Demonstrated production and executive management, an ability to manage their workload as well as their clients
• Creative and self motivated individual
• If coming from outside the game industry, new hires expected to learn/understand how game-play and real time issues effect visual direction and editorial techniques to compensate for such limitations.
• Demo reel must demonstrate:
o Storytelling
o Pacing
o Use of typography in design
o Effects compositing
o Use of live action and CG
o Breadth of creative editorial styles

Understanding:
• Intermediate knowledge of:
o Computer games
o Digital video compression formats
• Advanced knowledge of:
o Content creation; script/storyboard writing, shot log preparation, editing, EDL management
o Digital design for motion graphics to include color theory, digital effects, typography
o Digital asset management
o Project management
o Project tracking and status reporting
o Video/audio input and output hardware
o Non-linear video editing software
o Microsoft Office products for documentation, scheduling, and communication (Word, Excel, Project, Outlook)
• Demonstrates an excellent understanding of pre-production as it relates to video production for games and marketing
• Ability to assess audience and determine appropriate level of reporting detail
• Good verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities:
• Responsible for managing the relevant components of assigned video projects and schedule (in-house and external, if applicable), to include:
o Task identification
o Task estimates
o Task management
o Project scheduling
o Project tracking
o Project reporting
o Client and Inter-departmental dependencies coordination
• Responsible for creative design and follow-through of video projects, to include:
o Design, script/storyboard and project planning
o Editing, compositing, and digital effects
o Researching and improving aesthetics, style and techniques for marketing and in-game video requirements
• Digital asset management and archiving
• Coordination and tracking of all final video compression formats required.
• Video source acquisition in support of projects, as required
• Coordinating and managing internal use of video facilities, to include video game capture.
• Coordinating and managing external video engineering services, as required.
• Maintaining video stock, source library, and archives
• Provide videotape duplication, as required.
• Alerts appropriate parties of changes in scope and/or possible risks involved, as well, as presents effective solutions.
• Reports schedule variances to the appropriate parties
• Ensures that all video scripts, content creation, and process documentation is completed, published, and updated as necessary.
