Professor of Animation – 2-D and 3-D Animator

SCAD Hong Kong seeks candidates for full-time faculty positions in the animation department beginning in the fall of 2011. Qualified candidates should have a terminal degree or its equivalent in animation, or a related field. A strong portfolio and industrial experience is important. Ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate, by providing a DVD or website, expertise in traditional [2-D] animation and CG [3-D] animation. Proficiency in rigging is also desired. Professors will be required to develop and extend students’ animation craft in the context of story, audience and teamwork for group production. Therefore, a keen understanding of commercial or independent filmmaking would be a major asset to the position. Preference will be given to candidates with college-level teaching experience, proven leadership skills and ability to work with students of diverse backgrounds.
