Professor of Motion Media Design

The Savannah College of Art and Design is currently seeking candidates for full-time faculty positions in the Motion Media Design Department with SCAD Atlanta, and SCAD Savannah.

SCAD Atlanta seeks candidates experience with high end compositing, motion tracking and color correction a plus. Preference will be given to candidates with Motion Media experience for the gallery and or performance related venues. Candidates must be able to communicate with, and motivate, students to think creatively and critically, and apply higher-level theoretical models to the practice of digital media, in order to prepare students for rapidly evolving motion media design careers.

SCAD Savannah seeks candidates for Chair of the Motion Media Design department beginning in the fall of 2010. Experience in diverse issues in Motion Media such as concept development, pre-production, cinematography, media theory, digital culture, new media and critical studies is important as these and many other industry concepts exist throughout the core of this program of study. Technical expertise with industry standard tools and hardware is desirable as many topics are presented in our state-of-the-art facilities utilizing high-end workstations configured with a diverse range of hardware and software. These include the Adobe product line, including After Effects and Premiere; Flash; Photoshop and Illustrator; Autodesk Maya; Cinema 4D; and Nuke. In addition to administration responsibilities, you will be required to teach classes in areas at least 2-3 subject areas of the following subject areas; storyboarding and concept development, kinetic typography, editing, compositing, packaging and branding, and be able to lead teams for group production. Candidates must be able to communicate with, and motivate, students and faculty to think creatively and critically, and apply higher-level theoretical models to the practice of digital media, in order to prepare students for rapidly evolving motion media design careers.
