Senior Animator

Description

Bedlam Games is looking for a highly motivated and equally talented Senior Animator. You'll have the opportunity to work with some of the most talented people in the industry on a yet to be announced high profile licensed IP.

The Senior Animator is involved in the day-to-day creation of animation assets either as part of a project or for the studio generally. The Senior Animator is also responsible for ensuring that he or she is effectively sharing his or her experience and expertise to assist junior and intermediate artists in continuing their professional development.
As a senior member of the art team, the Senior Animator serves as a resource to the Art department generally. The Senior Animator will report directly to the Art Lead of any project that he or she is on. Specific duties include:
• Assisting the Art Lead with time estimations and scheduling at the beginning of any project.
• Utilizing his or her subject matter expertise to assist the Art Lead in assigning tasks to animation department staff at the appropriate level for such tasks.
• Adapting and working with motion capture data to create realistic in-game animations which are consistent with the overall game concept and physical principles.
• Creating key framed animation, as needed, to bridge any gaps in motion capture shortcomings.
• Taking ownership of assigned tasks, and taking pride in the quality of the work he or she creates.
• Providing creative and innovative solutions to technical art problems and/or restrictions.
• Preparing animations for export to game engine.
• Actively mentoring, coaching, teaching and training junior artists on internal team or outsourced team.
• Acting as a resource to the junior members of the Animation team and other staff.
• Assisting the Art Lead (as required) with the day to day management of the Animation team.
• Consistently striving to exceed the highest quality standards of the studio.
• Demonstrating enthusiasm, drive and a sense of urgency when performing job functions.
• Remaining flexible in undertaking any other such duties and responsibilities.
• Participating in any training or artist development offered by Bedlam.
