ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR OF MEDIA TECHNOLOGY AND INSTRUCTIONAL COORDINATOR

Woodbury University’s School of Media, Culture & Design invites applications for a full-time Instructional Coordinator and professor in the newly developing department of Media Technology. Areas of study include programming for computer graphics in fields such as animation, digital filmmaking, and games; system administration in creative studio environments and professional practices, including project management and problem solving in a production setting.

This is a non-tenure track position with faculty rank and salary commensurate with teaching and professional experience and degrees held.

Responsibilities: Instructional Coordinator (IC) duties include development and piloting of curriculum and services under a Title V grant. The IC will work with the Activities Director and Project Manager to develop the new program within grant guidelines. The IC position will be institutionalized by Woodbury University as faculty in the department of Media Technology, School of Media, Culture & Design. The individual will lead development of the program and should possess qualifications to assume the position of program chair.

A professor’s duties include teaching and advising undergraduate students in the major; mentoring independent studies and internships; serving on departmental and university committees; and maintaining active professional development that may include research, professional work in related industries, and involvement in regional and national professional organizations. A normal course load is four courses per semester; however, release time will be provided for the Instructional Coordinator’s duties.
