POSITION PURPOSE

Support a brand in the planning and development of digital games that are tightly integrated with analog and other digital expression such as websites and television from both an expression and production perspective.

KEY RELATIONSHIPS

Staff Size: 0-4 direct reports, with 25+ total indirect (third party) full time staff.

Coordinates a Cross Functional Team Of:

Architects, UX Designers, UI Designers, Visual Designers, Digital Art Directors, Game Designers, Requirements/Technical Analysts, Localization Managers, Development Managers, Project Managers whether internal staff of vendors staff.

JOB DUTIES

Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities:
- Interfaces and communicates effectively with brand management, technology, R&D, legal, creative, Operations and other production and enterprise project management staff as well as external partners, vendors and licensees on a regular basis.
- Reports product development status and manages release activities to upper management.
- Identifies tradeoffs related to scalability, manageability, testability, security, maintainability, usability, functionality, cost, and time.
- Manages vendors and works with internal managers, making day-to-day decisions on product content and design based on input from key stakeholders, escalating issues when appropriate.
- Works with project managers (internal or external) to support workflow and resource scheduling for the development teams, QA, build engineering and graphic artists team.
- Develops realistic production schedules with detailed milestones and ensure their execution. Gathers input and provides accurate game quality evaluations and detailed recommendations.
- Reviews and directs product QA for spec requirements, quality, and progress.
- Works with internal and external resources to create in-depth game design and web development documents.

Secondary Functions:
- Select appropriate internal and external resources.
- Consults with the business regarding technology feasibility of upcoming initiatives.
- Leads and coordinates technical prioritization and architecture for games and websites.
- Ensures appropriate analytic mechanisms are embedded in games and websites to measure success and support ongoing tuning to meet user expectations and financial goals.
- Participates with asset production staff, development manager and technical operations to enforce best practices in usability testing and consumer testing, digital asset management, software development methodology and technical operations.
- Remains aware of current market trends within the Console, PC and online gaming space, including patterns and customer requirements, in the U.S. and internationally. Able to use this knowledge to propose new and innovative products.

Financial Management
- Works with finance and business on viability for new contracts/products.
- Tracks milestone payments and statements of work from 3rd party vendors.
- Seeks and obtains approvals for contracts, milestones payments, and statements of work.

Prior Related Experience:
- 4+ years experience in development of Digital Children’s Entertainment products highly desired.
- 3+ years experience in Project Management.
- 3+ years experience in Children’s or Casual Digital Game Development & Production in a Leadership role.
- 1+ years experience in TV or film development highly desired.
- 1+ years experience with project budgetary and financial processes.

Time Expected to Reach Full Performance Level in Position:
Six months
