Medical Cyberworlds, Inc. (MCI) is company that is engaged in groundbreaking work, developing Virtual Human technology for use in medical education.  MCI is recruiting for a Lead Software Engineer to join its Los Angeles-based Art and Technical group.

Job Description

Lead software engineer/developer to develop simulation or ‘serious game’ featuring Virtual Humans. Work with digital artists, game designers and screenwriters to integrate assets and help build a production pipeline to efficiently develop game scenarios.

The successful candidate will have the exciting opportunity to work with an international team of thought leaders in: performance capture, affective computing, virtual humans, multi-agent systems, computer vision, human-computer interaction, adaptive learning systems, medical simulation, medical education and curriculum. 

Type: Contract position

Hours: Full-time, 40 hour work week

Duration: 2 years

Location: Los Angeles, CA

Salary Range: $110,000+ (Negotiable based on experience)

Responsibilities include:

  • Primary engineer/developer of interactive simulation or ‘serious game’

  • Creating design/code and integrate new technologies into game engine (e.g., Unity).

  • Identifying capabilities of technologies and algorithms for improved appearance of game (such as shaders), and technologies (such as using cameras as input) for improved interactivity.
  • Developing interactive game and working with 3D asset pipelines and artists.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new tasks in this small team environment.
