Software Engineer - Las Vegas, NV 

The Software Engineer (.NET Developer) will be responsible for participating in gaming software application development, to include developing web applications, web services, Windows Forms, back-end processes, and multi-tier application development. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Initiate custom software development and team participation
  • Plan, create, test, deploy, administer, and document custom software and integrate existing software to meet business needs
  • Plan, design, create, test, administer, and document web applications, web services, and Windows Forms
  • Identify solutions, propose enhancements, and correct problems with existing custom software applications
  • Ensure all custom applications are hardened against malicious data or intentions
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, describing custom applications which are constructed internally
  • Maintain excellent communication with team members on all tasks and projects

Other Duties:
  • Perform other assignments (or duties) as required
  • Responsible for staying abreast of best practices both internally and externally

Required Job Skills:
  • Familiarity with StarTeam, Subversion, or other software version control system
  • Possess strong understanding of HTTP, HTTPS, and web-based software development
  • Possess good understanding of data security and encryption of sensitive data using industry accepted best practices
  • Strong knowledge of software development principles with the ability to use standard development tools to construct and troubleshoot software systems.
  • Possess a comfort level with code reviews and have the ability to explain programming decisions through reason and logic
  • Ability to program in C#, ASP.NET, JavaScript, Ajax, and T-SQL (Stored Procedures, Triggers, Views, Jobs)
  • Thorough working knowledge in HTML, CSS, XML and various programming best practices Ability to develop, manage and maintain the operation of web services
  • Ability to develop GUI using Windows Forms and WPF
  • Ability to interpret relational database schemas and LINQ programming experience
  • Knowledge of current technological developments/trends in area of expertise
  • Ability to work as a technical professional in a high-pressure environment
  • Ability to write proposals, papers, and make presentations
  • Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to be proactive, handle multiple responsibilities, and work under pressure
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written
  • Ability to be flexible to a changing environment, acknowledging urgency when necessary
  • Perform on-site and remote technical support

Computer Equipment and Software:
  • Proficiency with Microsoft’s Visual Studio .NET 2005, 2008, 2010.
  • Experience with designing relational databases

Certification and licenses:
  • Gaming card, and or the ability to obtain by appropriate licensing agency

Education and Experience: 
Education:
  • Bachelors/undergraduate degree in Computer Science or similar required and/or four years of progressive experience in related field; or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position

Experience:
  • Minimum of four (4) years of programming experience required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of web application development required.
