Visual Analytics Product Engineer

Description

Responsibilities:

 

  • Drive the design and implementation of interactive data exploration and graphing functionality within the suite of ArcGIS products
  • Gather requirements from leading GIS industries to meet their needs for visualizing data using charts, graphs, and other techniques
  • Design, test, document, and support ArcGIS software to enhance overall product quality
  • Collaborate with the Graphics and UI teams to design new software
  • Give presentations and demonstrations of what users can create and how

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s in data visualization, information design, GIS, computer science, geography, or related field, depending on position level
  • Solid understanding of the ArcGIS geoprocessing tool framework
  • Experience with and understanding of applying GIS to solve real-world problems
  • Ability to think critically about new functionality and user requirements
  • Be detail oriented and a self-starter
  • Excellent communication skills

 

 

Recommended Qualifications:

 

  • Experience using charting or graphing packages such as Matplotlib, Matlab, TeeChart, FusionCharts, Tableau, Crystal Reports, etc.
  • A high-level understanding of ArcGIS products
  • Experience using Esri products to analyze and solve real world problems
  • Experience using Python
