As a member of the Autodesk Premium Support & Services organization, the Premium Support Specialist will deliver direct application programming support to Autodesk customers for Autodesk’s Media & Entertainment (M&E) products. The successful applicant will have a good grounding in C++ and object-oriented techniques, and show an aptitude for self-learning and problem-solving. This position provides the highest level of technical support for Autodesk Customers, and requires a detailed understanding of Autodesk M&E products, with a focus on Autodesk® Maya®.

A Premium Support Specialist's primary responsibility is to provide technical support to external customers and internal staff. A Premium Support Specialist works with our most advanced 3D products, resolves and document technical issues, and reports product enhancements to our Product Development teams.

 

Essential duties and responsibilities:

• Provide technical support to customers as well as internal staff, through web interface, via email and phone as appropriate.

• Document problem resolutions in the knowledge database.

• Provide guidance to team members researching technical issues.

• Research, verify, and generate detailed defect reports and wishlist requests.

• Work with development teams during product development cycle to ensure quality control.

• Perform customer visits for provision of API support/expertise.

 

Required Experience:

• Strong experience of C/C++ using Microsoft Visual Studio in a Windows environment and/or using GCC on Linux (OSX is a plus).

• Knowledge of object-oriented design and programming concepts.

• Experience troubleshooting software and hardware problems.

• Prior experience of developing applications using Autodesk technologies an advantage, but is not required.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Industrial Design, Computer Science, or related field.

 

Required Skills:

• Fluency in English.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to convey complex technical details coherently.

• Strong customer service skills including phone etiquette and conflict resolution.

• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

• Ability to present technical information to a live or virtual audience.

• Must be decisive, self-motivated and proactive, possessing strong desire to learn.

• Excellent Team player enjoying supporting and interacting with other members of a shared responsibility team.

 

Desired Experience/Skills:

• Advanced knowledge of Autodesk® Maya® and/or as well as other Autodesk M&E® products.

• Linux or OSX experience.

• Experience with MEL scripting and/or Python scripting
