Senior Systems/Network Administrator

 

 

Job Summary: 

We are looking for a Senior Systems/Network Administrator that can be a core member of our MIS team.  This position is responsible for the installation, configuration and maintenance of our server and networking infrastructure.  The ideal candidate will be one that loves to keep current with a wide variety of information systems disciplines ranging from helping our desktop administrator with PC problems to helping configure our routers and firewalls.  This person will be capable of troubleshooting and fixing server hardware issues; managing and upgrading our server software systems; administering our networking and security infrastructure; and multi-tasking any combination of projects across those fields.  This position will require someone who is accustomed to being on call in a 24x7 production environment and who can take ownership of a problem and work it until it’s resolved.   The right candidate must be an effective communicator, self-motivated, and a good team player.

Requirements

·    BS in Computer Science or equivalent

·    Minimum 3 years of experience

·    Candidate will be able to install, maintain and troubleshoot server hardware including RAID, fibre cards, and upgrade various BIOS and firmware levels.  Dell hardware experience preferred.

·    Experience with 2003 Active Directory and group policies.

·    Experience with 2007 Microsoft Exchange and OWA. 

·    Extensive experience with Backup Exec and/or ArcServe software and tape libraries.

·    Experience supporting and maintaining Microsoft network services such as:

FTP, DNS, WINS, DHCP and file and print sharing.

·    Fundamental understanding of networking and routing

·    Checkpoint firewall and VPN experience

 

 

Additional Technical Skills

·    Desktop support experience within Windows environment

·    Hitachi Storage Area Network  or similar SAN admin experience

·    Shoretel or similar VOIP experience

·    OpenNMS or similar network monitoring

·    Symantec Corporate Anti-Virus admin experience

·    Red Hat Linux configuration and admin experience

·    Java, Tomcat, or Apache experience

 

Other:

·    This is a staff position with no supervisory responsibility.
