SUMMARY OF POSITION

NetherRealm Studios, a division of WB Games Inc. seeks a User Experience Designer to join the team behind the "Injustice" and "Batman: Arkham Origins" mobile games. Our small, creatively-independent team brings premium action games to the iPhone and iPad, utilizing WB's most valuable and exciting properties.

The Designer will help create Conceptual Models, User Stories, Research, Assist in Prototyping, and testing of our game interfaces across mobile phones and tablets. Our users are important to us and we need you to join our UI/UX team to help make sure that no button is ever misunderstood again.

Netherrealm has a strong history of developing solid action games and we’re on track to continue doing so. We value new ideas and hard work, however we’re also a game studio so there’s always a casual and fun environment. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create personas to help define our user base.
  • Develop the project flow.
  • Understand which design patterns would work best for a given situation.
  • Create detailed wireframes.
  • Conduct user testing with paper prototypes, A/B tests, and other methods on-site.
  • Work with engineers to develop prototypes.
  • Develop concepts with the other UI and game designers.
  • Present the design work to the rest of the team for feedback.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • 3+ years of UX Experience in the mobile apps or games.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Flash and Actionscripting is a plus.
  • Experience with Axure, Balsamiq, or other similar tools.
  • Previous mobile app or game development experience preferred.
  • Prior experience in launching consumer apps or games.
  • Portfolio of previous projects must be submitted in order to be considered.
  • Ability to work well in a team development environment with strong communication skills.
  • Strong desire to design industry-leading game systems and ship the highest quality AAA games.
