Description
The Position:
We’re
looking for a talented and passionate writer who loves games and wants to join
our team in Louisville, Colorado. The game genre of the writing is military science fiction.
Responsibilities:
You
will work with a team of writers both onsite and offsite to write the dialog
for an upcoming sci-fi mobile/console game.
You’ll
generate story arc outlines, build character backstories, produce story
treatments and develop character descriptions.
It
will be important for you to create consistent characters with strong
motivations, dramatic story arcs and meaningful story content.
Required Skills:
·
Write engrossing
dialog.
·
Knowledge of
dramatic form and how to write cinematically.
·
Understanding of
how to use narrative to grow and impact characters in ways that encourage
player investment.
·
Ability to
analyze and understand an existing IP and play to its strengths.
·
Capacity to
respond to feedback and criticism in a prompt and professional manner.
·
Deadline
oriented.
·
Highly
self-motivated.
Desired Experience
·
Three years of
disciplined writing, either in a professional capacity or as a creative writer
with a large body of work.
·
College degree in
screenwriting for film, television or games, creative writing, filmmaking or
similar; or equivalent professional experience.
·
Knowledge of
games from a storytelling and character develop perspective.
Writing Samples:
Please
submit at least two polished samples demonstrating mastery of narrative
structure, character development and dialog.
Samples should be full-length, not excerpts.
