Algorithms R&D Engineer: Computer Vision

Apple's Advanced Computation Group (ACG) is seeking a talented algorithms R&D engineer to join their team in Portland. The ACG performs both exploratory and targeted algorithms research and development in a dynamic small team environment. The position involves core and applied computer vision and image processing research focused on both algorithm development and integration. As a researcher and software R&D engineer you will develop cutting-edge computer vision and image processing algorithms to enable current and future Apple products and services.

Description:
We are seeking a world-class expert in computer vision and image processing research and development. The candidate must be a capable C/C++ programmer with solid experience driving algorithmic solutions from prototype to implementation. He or she should also possess a keen interest in staying up-to-date on new developments in computer vision and image processing in both academia and industry, and be able to apply that knowledge to challenging problems across multiple domains.


Key Qualifications:
•Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
•Strong computer vision and image processing background.
•Machine learning experience is a plus.
•Strong background in mathematics and/or statistics is highly desirable.
•Demonstrated ability in both research and development.
•Experience integrating computer vision and image processing algorithms into applications.
•Strong C and C++ coding skills.
•Objective-C, Python, Matlab, and GPGPU (Cuda/OpenCL/GLSL) skills are a plus.
•OS X and/or iOS development experience is a plus.
•Ability to work effectively in cross functional teams.

Education:
M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related field (Mathematics, Statistics, Physics or Electrical and/or Computer engineering) with a focus on computer vision and image processing.
