Gameplay Programmer

Relic Entertainment, a wholly owned studio of SEGA, is the award winning RTS developer of Homeworld, Dawn of War and Company of Heroes, among other games.  Relic was founded on the premise that it is entirely possible to ship first class, genre altering, AAA titles, and have a life. What you will be doing:

The Gameplay Programmer will work closely with Art and Design leads to insure that all gameplay functionality is carried through to completion and provides an incredible player experience.

  • Work in conjunction with designers and artists to shape gameplay
  •  Implement gameplay related functionality including controls, weapon behaviour, vehicles, camera movement, and game mechanics
  •  Work with team members to iterate and refine gameplay systems
  •  Contribute innovative and original ideas toward all aspects of the game’s production and development
  •  Write robust, maintainable code
  •  Maintain code performance through profiling and optimization

What you should have:

  •  3-5 years of game industry experience in a programming role
  •  Demonstrated proficiency in C++ and C#
  •  A strong understanding of software engineering practices
  •  Strong work ethic is a must and willingness to adapt
  •  Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  •  Self-motivated and ability to work in a team or independently
  •  Strong sense of problem solving and decision making ability
  •  Proven ability to successfully multitask under considerable pressure
  •  An avid gamer with strong interest in pushing the industry forward creatively
  •  Experience in the game industry
