Game Engine Developer

Engineering | Mountain View, CA / mid-Peninsula


DigitalFish has an immediate need for a Game Engine Developer.

You’ll be working on a cutting-edge Google ATAP project creating a new content-authoring and delivery environment for artists, driven and being used by former Pixar animators and directors. Initially you will be located at Google's main campus in Mountain View, with the possibility of working at times from DigitalFish's office located mid-Peninsula. Some of our other partners include LEGO, NASA, Pixar and DreamWorks, and you can expect to intersect with these other projects over time.

In this position you will have the opportunity to work with multiple project teams, bringing your passion for advanced mobile graphics to realizing the high-performance graphics capabilities of modern mobile devices. As an excellent communicator and team player, you will work with senior graphics researchers and systems architects to inform technical decisions regarding constraints and capabilities of the game engine and associated graphics systems. You will work within project teams creating CPU and GPU code to solve advanced graphics problems.


Responsibilities

  • Integrate advanced graphics code for CPU and GPU into an existing mobile-device (Android) game engine.
  • Become an expert in understanding the execution model and data-formatting requirements in bringing in this graphics code from an R&D test bench to the engine.
  • Work closely within a team of developers and with senior technical staff in DigitalFish and Google ATAP.


Minimum Requirements

  • BS/BA in Computer Science or related engineering field
  • Fluency with modern OpenGL/GL ES
  • Experience developing within modern game engines
  • Good understanding of 3-D graphics fundamentals
  • Practical knowledge and experience in C/C++ and OOP
  • Strong general programming skills
  • Some experience with Agile/Scrum development process
  • Self-motivated with strong communications skills and able to work both in a team and independently
