3D Art Lead/Character Artist

Utherverse Digital, Inc. is in development for our new platform, The Virtual World Web, and browser, Curio, and is looking for an excited and creative 3D Animator to join our team to help enrich the experiences of millions of users around the world. We are looking to add a passionate, talented  and dynamic person into the role of 3D Art Lead/Character Artist .

 

Responsibilities

·         Create high quality 3D models, shaders and texture maps, to match concept, photo reference, art direction, etc.

·         Perform rigging and set up on character assets so they can be utilized in game,

·         Work with Unity3D game engine using the pineline and workflow required for creating characters,

·         Display exceptional integrity and understanding of the work;

·         Work on tasks with clear direction, with and without supervision.

·         Manage and direct the team to encourage and promote proficiency and efficiency

·         Ability to develop tools for character artists and character assets a bonus

 

Qualifications

·         Formal education at an art design school or equivalent experience

·         5+ years’ experience as a Character Artist

·         5+ years’ experience as a 3D Art lead or other management position

·         Knowledge of character systems and asset creation

·         A comprehensive modeling and texturing portfolio showing a varied range of character art to a very high standard.

·         Ability to produce work in a stylized realistic style

·         Knowledge of character rigging and animation systems

·         An above-average understanding of working within a game engine and pipeline.

·         Candidates must be highly motivated, organized, personable and able to work as part of a team.


 

Skills

·         Advanced knowledge of Maya, Mudbox, Photoshop and Unity3D

·         Strong proficiency in rigging and weighting, UV Mapping and planning texture layouts.

·         A keen understanding of the human form/anatomy and structure/silhouette in respect of modeling.

·         Ability to work within a team; building collaborative relationships

·         Communicating in a clear and concise manner

·         Fluent in English

·         Ability to multitask and prioritize work based on feedback/critiques.
