Test Lead, Online

BioWare Quality Assurance acts as a quality gauge during development, testing not only the product, but the processes used to create the product. Quality Assurance is intended to be proactive and catch problems before they make it into the product.

As a Test Lead, Online you will be managing and coordinating the ongoing testing efforts across BioWare’s broad portfolio of web and mobile products. You will work closely with the Development QA Lead, Online in formulating test strategy, test plan creation, and reporting to production. You will also be responsible for establishing best practices and driving QA process within a dynamic team of high performing software developers.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as central POC for Production
  • QA POC for Online Launch-Readiness, Pre-/Post-Launch
  • Document and maintain online ecosystem information for future reference
  • QA Life-cycle support for Online Systems
  • Coordinate online systems / features testing on game-side QA teams
  • Create archiving process and maintain documentation and standard operating procedures
  • Drive the creation of processes and testing strategies applicable to all game teams
  • Managing testing requirements around online systems for Dev-QA across multiple concurrent projects
  • Develop standards and processes across the teams
  • Maintain a strong line of communication between Online Group and Game Teams
  • Evaluate scope of testing required, create execution strategy and help coordinate testing
  • Manage external QA partners and relationships
  • Drive continuous improvement of Online QA Operations activities

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

5+ years of experience in a Leadership Role within game development
3+ years as a Software Quality Assurance Analyst
Minimum of 2 shipped AAA title on PS3, Xbox 360 in Quality Assurance or related discipline

ADDITIONAL SKILLS, ABILITIES AND KNOWLEDGE
Prior experience creating operational plans, managing budgets
Prior experience working with geographically distributed development teams

Ability to manage testing activities
Ability to influence internally and externally
Comprehensive understanding of the software development process, QA best practices/methodologies
Skilled at process design, implementation and integration
Good understanding and experience working in an agile game development environment
Strong Time and Task Management (Complex, Fuzzy)
Strong Problem Identification and Solving Ability

ADVANTAGE
Technical Diploma/Certificate or University Degree in a related field
Avid gamer who regularly engages and in both single player and multiplayer gameplay
Knowledge of EA Origin
Previous Game Development Experience
