Program Coord Interactive Design & Game Dev

Help students achieve their goals as program coordinator of interactive design and game development in SCAD Atlanta.

Responsibilities:

- Provide day-to-day administration of the academic departments

- Direct, coordinate and evaluate the interactive design and game development department

- Develop curriculum

- Foster interdepartmental collaboration and continue to enhance the reputation of the SCAD interactive design and game development department in academic and professional circles

- Oversee departmental budget, including development and implementation

- Work with the admission department to recruit talented undergraduate and graduate students to SCAD and to the department

- Teach classes annually, as assigned

- Evaluate professors within the department through class observations and review of student evaluations, service, professional development and contributions to the department’s goals

- Work with the dean to provide professional development opportunities for professors

- Develop, in consultation with the dean and department members, a strategic plan for the department that is consistent with School of Digital Media’s goals and overall SCAD strategic plan.

Requirements:

- Terminal degree or its equivalent in interactive design, digital media design or a related field

- Experience developing indie or AAA games for professional clients

- Experience with Oculus Rift, Leap Motion, Arduino, or similar alternative input devices is a plus

- Proficiency in state-of-the-art software such as Adobe Creative Cloud products, Autodesk Maya, ZBrush, MODO, Unreal, Unity or CryEngine

- Background in programming and teaching programming languages such as C++, C#, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, PHP and Processing is a plus

- Ability to motivate students and faculty to think creatively and critically

- Ability to work with students and faculty of diverse backgrounds

- Familiarity with content management systems, mobile applications development and physical computing a significant plus

- Professional-level visual art and design skills and experience preferred

- College-level teaching experience preferred

- Experience teaching and developing online coursework preferred
