Pipeline Supervisor

The Pipeline Supervisor is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining an effective and efficient studio pipeline.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop an efficient, effective, and user-friendly pipeline with a focus on studio productivity.
  • Work with supervisors and production to anticipate a show's challenges and find efficient, effective, and realistic solutions.
  • Constantly brainstorm ways to simplify, optimize, and streamline complicated tasks.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the tools and procedures of the entire pipeline and assign development and support tasks to the appropriate resources.
  • Assess software needs and requirements.
  • Identify and utilize tools and techniques to improve productivity and quality.
  • Provide technical support and leadership to the crew.
  • Ensure constant flow of communication.
  • Demonstrate creative problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Share information and techniques to foster communication between teams and disciplines.
  • Ensure thorough clean-up, documentation, and archiving of the show upon completion.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Computer Science or Computer Graphics.
  • 5+ years computer graphics production experience focusing on pipeline design and development.
  • Must be knowledgeable in, or have end-user experience in, a broad spectrum of computer graphics techniques and applications.
  • Must have the ability to juggle multiple projects, work with diverse personalities, and operate within strict deadlines.
  • Experience with production pipelines for visual effects or animation required.
  • Demonstrable, successful experience in either film or game-cinematic production is required.
  • Demonstrated organizational, project management, and leadership skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with all levels of management.
  • Ability to work within teams comprised of a wide variety of technical and artistic experience levels.
  • Strong people-management skills.
  • Ability to foster a work environment that is demanding and motivates employees to maintain creative standards and achieve objectives.
  • Ability to establish priorities and multitask efficiently within a high-pressure environment while meeting strict deadlines.
