About the Position

We are currently seeking a fun and talented Producer to apply their considerable experience and expertise in the production of an animated television series! This position offers competitive compensation and runs until October 2016.

As the Producer, you will oversee all aspects of production planning for animation – from scripts, voice records, storyboards, animation and post-production through delivery to broadcasters. You must have strong knowledge of 3D animation and production process which will aid in establishing strategies for meeting key deliverables and milestones, and additional experience with Maya workflows is a definite asset.

We require an extremely well-organized, collaborative and passionate team-player to join our team in this role, ensuring DHX Media’s world class reputation and production values are maintained.

Responsibilities

  • Manage long form animation productions across all departments
  • Manage production budget and maintain production schedule
  • Ensure all departments achieve production milestones
  • Negotiate contracts with staff, artists and all other outside vendors/suppliers
  • Manage and delegate to the Production Manager and Production Coordinators
  • Support the Director and creator’s vision for the series
  • Liaise directly with clients
  • Ensure that artists have the proper tools available to them
  • Work with Finance, Director of Production, VP Production and other production and corporate staff to establish a working production budget for a series
  • Track and maintain the production budget, attend weekly cost report meetings, approval of time sheets, invoices, purchases
  • Create, maintain and revise as necessary production schedules for the Production where necessary and work in collaboration with the Director of Production and overall studio schedules
  • Establish regular team meetings involving key supervisors to regularly review progress on production schedule and budget
  • Oversee the day to day operation of the production
  • Manage the script process, including clearances, script meetings, delivery and related budget
  • Oversee the asset library and archiving to ensure that naming conventions are established and followed
  • Recruit new employees as necessary to maintain optimal and efficient staffing on the production, coordinating with the Director of Production.
  •  Negotiate and complete employment agreements using templates and freelance agreements in partnership with Human Resources department 

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership role on an animated production
  • Experience and knowledge with 2D and 3D pipelines and workflow
  • Driven, innovative and solution focused
  • Exceptional project management skills, able to successfully manage people, expenses and timelines in a fast paced and dynamic environment
  • Exceptional communicator, able to communicate vision, priorities and timelines
  • Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
  • Able to professionally represent DHX with external and internal contacts
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software required.
