MSG is looking for a Director to join a groundbreaking post-production department based in Los Angeles. As the content delivery team for the MSG Sphere projects, we strive to create world-class content at an unprecedented scale for the largest LED screens ever made.  

The Director of Editorial, Integration, I/O, & QC is responsible for the coordination and oversight of all activities related to the editorial, VFX, audio, color, and delivery of show content to MSG Sphere venues. As such, this role requires a deep knowledge of post-production workflows for creating high-end content. Ideal candidates will have experience producing content for networks or studios in the above disciplines across multiple internal teams and external vendors working in parallel. This position requires a high level of organization and management of large budgets with activities distributed across the globe. 

In addition to following the creation of Sphere show content from initial pitch through to final delivery for the Sphere venues, the Director of Editorial, Integration, I/O, & QC will have direct oversight of the LA editorial group. This team is responsible for the ingest, organization, transcode, sync, edit, break

Specific Functions/Activities: 

  • Work with creatives, live action production, VFX, audio, color, and the Sphere Playback team to scope, schedule, and budget all post-production needs for each show. 
  • Staff, schedule, budget, and manage an editorial team covering the ingest, edit, VFX handover, conform, and final QC/delivery of video content for Sphere shows. 
  • Oversee and manage the flow of data and information between editorial, VFX, audio post, and color. teams to assure that content creation remains on schedule and within budget. 
  • Scope, budget, schedule, and manage audio and color work sent to third party vendors 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years' experience as a producer in high-end post production, with at least two years working as a TV network or studio-side producer. 
  • Experience working with teams spread over multiple locations and interfacing with VFX, audio, and color third party vendors. 
  • Proven track record managing multiple fast-paced projects in a large organization. 
  • Knowledge of post production processes including ingest, cataloging/archiving, editing, visual effects, motion graphics, audio, color, and QC. 
  • Familiarity with current trends and workflows across the industry for multi-camera array and high-resolution capture, HDR, VFX and motion graphics, and spatial audio. 
  • Excellent problem solving, attention to detail, and organizational skills. 
  • Experience with shared storage and asset management workflows. 
  • Must be a team player and work well under tight deadlines.
