SCAD seeks a visualization coach to help the university community prepare for these career-defining moments with SCADamp, the university’s professional presentation studio.
SCADamp prepares students and alumni to share their work, ideas, and credentials with polish and power. Reporting to the SCADamp director, the visualization coach creates and delivers extended learning opportunities that help students and alumni develop the presentation skills necessary to excel across a wide spectrum of formal and informal “peak-performance” moments — from formal class presentations and job interviews to impromptu encounters and networking at industry events.
In this role, you’ll lead workshops, classroom presentations, one-on-one sessions, and group coaching to amplify visual communication. You’ll also work with SCAD faculty in one-on-one sessions and SCAD Best Practices in Teaching Workshops to elevate dynamic learning environments and support SCAD staff through coaching and team-based workshops, sharing strategies designed to enhance interdepartmental communication.
The ideal candidate has advanced experience using the Adobe Creative Cloud, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and After Effects, as well as presentation-specific software, including Microsoft PowerPoint, Keynote, and Prezi.
Candidates should have excellent visual communication skills, part artist and part storyteller the graphic design portfolio should exemplify the ability to weave entrepreneurship and modern technology with product and user centered design. The ideal candidate should additionally possess excellent presentation skills, evidence of success in creative and collaborative endeavors, and the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse student, alumni, faculty, and staff population. Outstanding interpersonal communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills are crucial, as are strong project management and organizational skills, attention to detail, and the flexibility and exceptional work ethic to adapt to new directions and initiatives and meet expectations and deadlines.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in graphic design, visual communication, motion graphics, or a related field
- Ability to work independently and as a team player in order to manage projects effectively
- Ability to cultivate positive working relationships with internal and external constituents
- Experience working within an innovative, fast-moving, and professional environment
