Professor of Animation: 3D Character/Creature

Description

SCAD seeks a professor of animation to help prepare the next generation of cinematic animation artists.

In this position, you will help students bring complex characters, creatures, and scenes to life through their own 3D-animated cinematic language. The ideal candidate has experience as an animator on three to five feature films, a minimum of seven years of experience on multiple television series, or four shipped AAA titles. Experience with designing and creating shots from scripts or storyboards as well as Houdini, Maya, Premo, and Presto is preferred.

The candidate should have strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to collaborate effectively with administration, faculty, and students, plus the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The ideal candidate also has the ability to work with students of diverse backgrounds.

Requirements
- Terminal degree or its equivalent in significant professional experience
- College-level teaching experience preferred
- Reel, website, or flatbook with breakdown of your recent and/or past character performance work conveying an understand of animation design principles
