Senior Game Designer

Description

Phaser Lock Interactive is currently seeking a Senior Game Designer with a passion for Virtual Reality,  amazing and creative ideas for games,  and game direction. You must be creative with a passion for not just gaming, but a desire to push the boundaries of what is possible in VR.  As part of our team you will design compelling game systems, mechanics and creative content while working with engineers, artists, UX designers, producers and product managers to see their implementation.

What you'll do:

  • Own game features and systems end-to-end from the design side, concepting and building them with an eye towards engagement, retention and monetization

  • Work closely with and take direction from the Design Director or Leads to take gameplay ideas from concept to completion.

  • Craft new features to hit product goals, including initial concepting, building out all the specs and documentation, and soliciting feedback from fellow designers and the implementing team to further refine 

  • Tackle designing and owning some of the most challenging features, mechanics, or content the game requires.

  • Ensure game features, mechanics and content are embracing and embodying the game's creative vision.

  • Provide mentorship and training to less experienced designers on the team.

  • Collaborate effectively with other departments as needed.

  • Mentor other designers and team members in the fundamentals of elegant design, feedback triage, and adaptive design

  •  Represent Phaser Lock Interactive as a specialist on VR gaming industry trends, technical aspects of game design

What you'll bring:

  • 5+ years of overall game design/development with Unity engine

  • At least 5+ years experience designing games with at least 2 successfully shipped titles 

  • Experience implementing designs in Unity or similar engine 

  • Great communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with all team members

  • Able to function and lead in an Agile development environment 

  • Desire to create the best-in-class games in the VR Industry
