Technical Writer (12-18 month contract)

Position Overview 

SideFX is seeking an exceptional Technical Writer with a keen attention to detail to join our Technical Documentation team.

As a member of the Research and Development department you will have the opportunity to work alongside some of the brightest minds in the industry and interact with an outstanding artist community. Key Duties & Responsibilities 

• Writing technical documentation for artists and programmers, such as user guides, reference, and API documentation. 
• Deliver clear and concise documentation in simple and easy-to-read English.
• Collaborate with developers, trainers and other writers to communicate complex ideas to an artistic audience.
• Review and copy-edit content created by developers and other non-writers. 

Requirements 

• A Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Three to five years of experience in technical writing.
• Experience writing guides, tutorials and manuals.
• Experience with 3D packages.
• Great organizational skills with the ability to multitask and work on multiple subject areas at once.
• Strong written communication skills.
• A passion for improving the user experience.

Bonus Skills 

• Production experience in film, TV, or games.
• Experience with Houdini software.
• Knowledge of physical simulation principles and methodologies.
• Independent learner.
