Senior Programmer
Description
We are looking for a Senior Programmer to help oversee the engineering team and technical standards for a new game development project in Unreal Engine. Under the supervision of the project director and in concert with the other component leads, you will shepherd the programming team to build architecture, design systems, and craft development tools for a new immersive 3D game.
Role Responsibilities
- Define and enforce the game’s technical goals and processes in alignment with the vision of the project director
- Supervise code and personnel across a small team of developers of multiple disciplines within the spectrum of game programming and technology
- Work with your programming staff to ensure development deadlines are met while achieving the highest work quality possible
- Coordinate with the producer and the other component leads to set milestone goals and run an efficient production pipeline
Your Qualifications
- Proven experience with Unreal Engine and C++ on a commercially shipped game
- Experience with version control for game development (Perforce, Git+LFS, etc.)
- Thorough understanding of—and comfort with—longer game development pipelines
- Ability to adapt programming techniques and standards to the fluid needs of a specific project
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum processes and assigning/distributing tasks
- Ability to understand and integrate business objectives and philosophies and synthesize them into the game’s technical vision
Bonus Skills & Experience
- Experience managing a team of 5+ developers
- Shipped title(s) on a current-gen console
- Familiarity with the Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence, Sourcetree)
- Experience coordinating with contractors and other outsourced services
- Passion for games and the video games industry
