Who are we hiring?

The LED & Display Specialist role will join the groundbreaking MSG Sphere team in the development of technology for our Sphere Studios and MSG Sphere venues. Initially, the candidate will work to develop strategies, workflow guidelines, and SOPs for ensuring our displays meet and remain at the desired specifications. The role will liaise with several internal departments and external vendors to drive the quality and performance of our displays in MSG Sphere. 

What will you do?

• As part of the Playback department, this role will oversee the performance and specifications of our LED display systems 
• Maintain LED displays in our Sphere Studios 
• Work with various departments on specifications and qualitative analysis of MSG LED displays 
• Closely determine standards and test protocols to measure playback systems performance 
• Ability to write technical SOPs, Content Deliverable Specifications, Workflow charts, Operating Check Lists, Site Acceptance Tests, Qualitative Assurance Lists 
• Engineering support of video equipment for all types of video equipment used in the Sphere environment. 
• End-to-end color qualitative analysis, correction, and assurance across MSG Test Sites LED displays 

• 10+ years LED design, programming, and color calibration and verification 
• 10+ years live production experience 
• 5+ years’ experience in managing technical projects 
• Extensive knowledge of color pipelines and testing and verification of color pipelines 
• Working expertise in gamma, bit depth, video signal analysis, chroma sub-sampling, video compression and artefacts 

• Color science background with deep understanding of video bit depth, gamma, color space and more. 
• Experience with arena sized LED screens and complex LED processing systems 
• Extensive knowledge of LED products from various manufacturers   
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills as well as juggling competing priorities and changing expectations. 
• Knowledge and interest in current trends in video and playback technology. 

• Must be a team player and work well under tight deadlines.
